Intensive English Institute
Since 1967, the Intensive English Institute (IEI) has helped thousands of international students and professionals improve their English language proficiency.
IEI provides full-time and part-time curriculum options in its intensive English programs, as well as special group programs for international universities, businesses, educational agencies, and other University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign units.
Services & Support
- Encourages international visiting scholars, students, teaching assistants in university departments and trailing spouses/partners to enroll in IEI’s intensive English courses to improve their English proficiency.
- Develops intensive English programs for international groups associated with university departments and programs.
- Processes requests for workshops or courses in conversational English, reading, pronunciation, grammar usage, and vocabulary development. IEI also handles topics about giving formal presentations, writing research papers, and letter writing.
